Becoming Ronan's Girl

As kids, Ronan promised to marry me when I turned into a girl. He was my best friend, my everything-- the only person who made me feel less alone.

Until he decided I was too embarrassing to be around. Too weird to defend. Ronan chose his reputation over our friendship, and I spent years trying to forget him.

Now finally living as Evie, my true self, I’m faced with seeing him again at our small college.  Ronan refuses to accept me, looking at me like I'm a threat to his reputation all over again.
